In 2012, UMC undertook one of the largest IT projects in the organization's history. Following a multi-year initiative
to computerize all patient records, the hospital implemented a system to computerize all treatment data, from diagnoses to treatment orders. Bill Eubanks, UMC's CIO, will discuss the challenges involved in planning a project of this scope, as well as lessons learned from the experience.

Bill Eubanks serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for University Medical Center Health System. Bill holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

Bill joined UMC Health System in 1986. He has held a number of positions in the Information Technology Department, including assistant Director and Director. Bill left UMC briefly in 1995 and served as Senior Technical Consultant with IDX Corporation before returning to UMC as Division Director in 1996. He has served in his current position since 2001.

Bill is a certified professional in Health Information Management Systems, and also holds the Certified Healthcare CIO designation. He is a member of the Health Information Management Systems Society and the College of Health Information Management Executives.

Currently, Bill is serving as Board President of Ronald McDonald Charities of the Southwest, where he has been an active Board member since 2008.
